Children at 23W: A Place For Little Ones

By Ange Drake

We are thrilled to announce that our Essendon studio is in its final stages of setup, and we’re gearing up for some fantastic enhancements! As we expand our offerings, including more MOM class times and welcoming more members, it’s essential to update our studio guidelines. These changes are designed to ensure the safety, access, and enjoyment of our facilities for all members.

We believe that clear expectations will help maintain a harmonious environment where everyone can focus on their health and fitness goals. Below, you will find our updated policies which reflect our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming space for all our families.

At 23W, we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all our members, including the littlest ones! Here’s what you need to know about bringing your children and babies to our gyms in Preston and Essendon:

  1. Children’s Area: Both locations feature a fenced children’s area. In Preston, we offer shared care nanny services from 8 AM to 12 PM, and we’re looking to provide similar support at our Essendon location.
  2. Safety First: For safety, children and babies must stay within the children’s area unless they are securely buckled into their prams. We also ask that snacks in the kids area free from nuts.
  3. Class Participation:
    • Pilates and Yoga Rooms: Babies and children may join you during designated MOM times only. This ensures everyone’s safety around reformer beds and maintains the calming nature of these classes.
    • Strength Studios: Outside of MOM times, children and babies are welcome in the strength studios, provided they are under proper supervision.
    • Reformer Studio: Children will ONLY be able to attend Reformer classes during MOM times.
  4. Reformer Rooms: To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone using our Reformer room, we kindly request your cooperation with the following guidelines:
    • Children in Class: Children are only able to attend our Reformer classes during MOM times. Due to the compact nature of the Reformer room, children must remain settled in their prams or seated on the floor to the back of the reformer. This helps maintain a safe and focused environment for all participants.
    • Feeding & Changing: If your little one requires feeding or a nappy change, please use the designated couch area outside the Reformer room. This helps keep our space safe, clean and comfortable for everyone.
  5. Strength Studio Conduct: Children are not permitted to run and touch workout equipment. We ask parents to help us enforce this expectation.
  6. Feeding and Changing: If you need to feed or change your baby, please use our designated children’s area or the special area provided in the studio.

If you have any questions about anything outlined above, please just ask. The team will be reminding members of these expectation throughout the week.
